About Us
Our Approach
Mental health is core to being human.
At Fertile Minds, we recognise the complex environmental, social, cultural and personal factors that shape and intertwine with mental health across the lifespan. We honour the unique journey of every individual. Our vision is that every person has a space where they are seen, heard, held and understood.
Together, we’ll develop a comprehensive support plan, guiding you toward a richer, more fulfilling experience of health and well-being.
Meet Ashlea
Dr Ashlea Hambleton is a Clinical Psychologist and Researcher with over a decade of experience working with eating disorders, attachment difficulties, anxiety, depression and self (identity, values, life transitions).
Outside of Fertile Minds, Ash works as a postdoctoral researcher with the InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders. Ashlea completed her PhD in the field of digital interventions to improve treatment accessibility for people living with Anorexia Nervosa. This research demonstrated that telehealth can be effectively used to deliver evidence-based treatments, and for most people, treatment outcomes are fairly equivalent to studies conducted in face-to-face settings.
Ashlea believes that a safe, genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship is the key to success in treatment. Therapy can be a daunting prospect for many, and Ashlea’s goal is to support her clients to feel comfortable, and most importantly, listened to. Her therapy style is person-centred and blends respect, compassion, and curiosity with humour.
